Does your disagreements end up in big fights with nothing accomplished but ego tripping? Many times ending up angrier than before.
The resolution is very simple, logical and clear as day, yet the person you are in combat
with sees the world through this really weird type of lens. No matter what you say, their mind
is dead set on what they believe or rather feel at the moment. It is all about what is in their head at the time, regardless to what makes sense. It is about being right and not what is right.
Listen, it is pointless to argue, absolutely no productivity or progress whatsoever comes from arguments. What is produced is bitter and resentful feelings towards otherwise harmonious people. Stinging words said in fleeting moments reach our heart, sometimes ruining relationships for a lifetime.
One really fast way to end an argument instantly is to not say one word. Literally NOT ONE WORD! No one likes to argue alone for too long.
This may be difficult for some because of our egos, yet it can be subdued, at least for a few minutes.
That its it. Just as simple and logical as you think your view is during a disagreement. Don't say one word and the key is to listen meticulously to the other person. Understand what they are saying. From here, it is possible to create resolution, yet it is 100% effective in not creating further strife.
First, we must know how to win friends and influence people. Second, we don't all see the world through the same lens. Some people think that screaming, cursing and saying whatever comes to their mind, no matter how it offends or hurts another person is just fine.
These people figure that you deserve it, what the say is true and that is what you had coming as a result of "how you wronged them". They are seeing the world through their value system and to try and teach or show them something different during these emotionally connected ego identified times is useless.
Humans are often concerned about themselves and how they feel. So, what happens when you have two or three people that are only concerned about their feelings and what has been done to them? You get anger, strife, bitterness, resentment, revenge and a retarding of mind and body.
The next concept that we must overstand is that people are led by their emotions, opinions and egos.
Sounds sort of immature, yet it does not matter how intelligent, smart or spiritual they may appear to be.
As a matter of fact, the more they know, the more ego they may have. Information alone does not equate with wisdom.
During the height of European achievement in Germany also existed the Jewish Holocaust. How could so many
learned scholars and educated people exist in such a period?
How could Enron steal so many families accumulated investments, ultimately bankrupting them? How can people whom supposedly profess to have the answers to the plight of oppressed people in many instances be the very ones that pull the people further apart and at times try to force them into another form of mental oppression that aligns with their perception of how the world should be?
It is just information and in each case above, the people are led by ego, emotions and opinions. Rarely does moral conscience and reason lead our decisions and until we specifically implement a method to cultivate that within us, we will be led by external forces.
The best thing that we can do is to give another person the gift of our personal development.

The fortress that we build around us to keep out the bad people
also keep out the good people.
